Description of 3M industrial hot melt adhesives
Hot melt adhesives in the 3M catalog are part of the flexible adhesives from the Scotch-Weld range.
The principle of operation for hot melt adhesives is that they come in the form of sticks, liquefy when heated, are applied while hot in a liquid state to the substrate, and develop performance and cohesion as they cool.
These adhesives allow for easy and effective bonding of cardboard, plastics, and expanded polystyrene depending on the references.
3M markets two different types of hot melt adhesives, applied using specific glue guns:
HOT MELT: Melting point of approximately 200°C.
LOW MELT: Melting point of approximately 130°C. These are particularly suitable for bonding expanded polystyrene, which is sensitive to heat, or for safer use in specific establishments such as CATs (Centres for Therapeutic Adaptation).
If you would like more technical information about this product, please discover all the characteristics of the hot melt adhesives.
