Overview

What are the characteristics of 3M 3792QLM?

The 3M 3792 QLM is a Low Melt adhesive from the Scotch-Weld range manufactured by 3M. It is classified as low melt because it is applied at a temperature of approximately 120°C.

This allows for the permanent bonding of delicate materials without the risk of deformation or degradation. It is used on heat-sensitive substrates such as lightweight plastics and expanded polystyrene.

As shown in the photo below, the 3M 3792 Q hot melt adhesive melts polystyrene, while the 3M 3792 QLM keeps it intact!

It is also suitable for a wide variety of surfaces, including wood, cardboard, fabrics, paper, and glass.

          Applications

The applications concern heat-sensitive materials, with one use being the cushioning of polystyrene at the bottom of a carton, which does not degrade with this type of adhesive. It is also widely used in DIY projects.

          Product characteristics and customer benefits

The adhesive also has the advantage of being translucent and features an open time of 50 seconds, compared to the 3M 3762 QLM, which only has an open time of 25 seconds. Its viscosity is also higher (10,500 cPs compared to 4,000 cPs for the 3M 3762QLM), making it less liquid.

Its application is straightforward and quick, requiring the use of a hot melt electric glue gun. Compatible models for the 3M 3792 QLM include the 3M TC/TC-Q Applicator and 3M TC/TC-Q LT Applicator.

It is important to use this product in well-ventilated areas to avoid the accumulation of fumes released by the molten adhesive. The safety data sheet is available at www.quickfds.com.
