Characteristics of 3M 3762 Q
The 3M 3762 Quadrack is a hot melt adhesive with an amber color, part of the Scotch-Weld range manufactured by 3M. Composed of EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) thermoplastic resins, it is classified as Hot Melt because it is applied at a temperature of approximately 210°C. Its formulation is solvent-free, allowing for rapid bonding and excellent adhesion when heated.
This adhesive is presented in the form of notched sticks, with the notching being a feature that identifies them as 3M products. Solid storage simplifies handling and transportation.
The adhesive exhibits strong adhesion on a variety of heat-sensitive, porous, and non-porous materials such as cardboard, paper, cork, and wood. It is classified as multi-purpose and is cost-effective compared to other hot melt adhesives.
Its application is straightforward and involves a single coating, meaning that the adhesive is applied to only one side of the substrate. This is done using an electric heating gun that melts the adhesive, allowing for either a dot or a continuous bead of adhesive to be applied.
Compatible 3M hot melt glue guns include the 3M TC/TC-Q Applicator and 3M TC/TC-Q LT Applicator.
It is important to use this product in adequately ventilated areas to avoid the accumulation of fumes released by the molten adhesive. The safety data sheet is available at www.quickfds.com.
What are its applications?
The primary use is for the rapid sealing of cartons during product packaging, making it widely used in the packaging industry.
Another application includes the assembly of wood and particle boards.
