Overview

What are the characteristics of 3M 3792Q?

The 3M 3792 Quadrack is a hot melt adhesive from the Scotch-Weld range manufactured by 3M. It is notable for being solvent-free, translucent, and is applied at a temperature of approximately 210°C, requiring certain safety precautions (such as avoiding contact with the nozzle and hot adhesive).

This adhesive is formulated to enable the permanent bonding of difficult-to-adhere plastics, as well as porous and non-porous products such as wood, corrugated cardboard, lightweight materials, fabrics, paper, and glass.

It has an open time of 50 seconds (the time between applying the adhesive and assembling the elements), which is a significant advantage compared to other hot melt adhesives, allowing for adjustments if needed between the two bonded parts.

The application is simple and quick, requiring minimal training for the workforce. The notched stick is loaded into a specific electric heating gun, which melts the adhesive and allows for liquid application. As it cools, it reaches its final bonding strength.

Compatible hot melt glue guns include the 3M TC/TC-Q Applicator and 3M TC/TC-Q LT Applicator.

It is essential to use this product in well-ventilated areas to avoid the accumulation of fumes released by the molten adhesive. The safety data sheet is available at www.quickfds.com.
