Overview

          Features of the 3M TC/TC-Q Generation 2

The 3M TC/TC-Q Gen. II hot melt applicator (formerly 3M Polygun TC Quadrack) is a corded heat gun developed by 3M for applying hot melt adhesive at a temperature of around 210°C.

The new generation of 3M hot melt applicators stands out with its lighter, more ergonomic design for enhanced user comfort:

    • New heating chamber for smoother operation
    • Soft handle for increased comfort
    • Protected illuminated on/off switch
    • Accepts Q or TC sticks without an adapter

The applied adhesive comes in notched hot melt sticks. The glue gun features a mechanism to adjust the adhesive dosage and prevent backflow.

Its feed handle is designed so that the palm of the hand presses and triggers the extrusion of the adhesive, rather than the finger, as with most other models. This greatly improves working comfort.

It is easy to use and becomes operational quickly, thanks to its 6-minute heat-up time.

Different types of nozzles can be adjusted, and the glue gun includes a flow-stop system to prevent drips.

          Compatible Hot Melt Glues References

Only the 3M hot melt adhesives, 3M 3792 Q and 3M 3762 Q, are compatible with this applicator.

3M hot melt applicators are engineered to boost efficiency, lower costs, and reduce material waste in various industrial uses. Whether for large-scale jobs or detailed work, these applicators provide top-tier performance and help maintain production schedules with their on-demand melting and gradual feed systems.

With these second-generation models, there’s no need for a Quadrack converter—you can easily switch between Q-type or TC-type hot melt sticks.

          Usage Tips

Special care should be taken with the gun after use to avoid clogging and the buildup of glue at the nozzle.

The nozzle may be hot during application, so it is important not to touch it.

It is essential to expel any remaining glue stick at the end of use to allow the glue gun to cool down properly.
