Overview

Description of HM 620 hot melt adhesive

HM 620 is a hot melt adhesive made from EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) thermoplastic resins. It is distinguished from standard hot melts by its application temperature, which is between 120 °C and 150 °C (compared to 160 °C to 200 °C for traditional hot melts), earning it the designation of low melt.

Compared to a hot melt like Adezif HM800, it retains the same characteristics of rapid adhesion, high performance of the final assembly, absence of solvents, a variety of compatible substrates, and easy storage and handling. The only difference is its lower application temperature.

It is ideal for bonding heat-sensitive surfaces such as expanded polystyrene, fragile coated surfaces, or thermoplastic films. It can also be applied to wood, glass, paper, and more.

          Applications

Given its application temperature of 120°C to 150°C, the most common applications involve bonding heat-sensitive materials.

A notable example is polystyrene, which does not melt under heat. This adhesive can be used to bond blocks of expanded polystyrene to the bottom and sides of a carton to securely cushion fragile products during transport or in DIY projects.

          Product characteristics and customer benefits

Its low viscosity allows for a greater flow of adhesive and easier application on smooth surfaces with minimal flatness deviations.

The adhesive is translucent and remains invisible even after drying, showing no discoloration, shrinkage, or stretching of the materials after application.

Application requires the use of a special low melt hot glue gun. With the lower heating temperature, the risk of burns is significantly reduced, enhancing safety during application.

It is essential to use this product in well-ventilated areas to prevent the accumulation of fumes released by the molten adhesive, although it is important to note that the formation of odors and fumes is significantly reduced compared to traditional hot melts.
