Description of 3M neoprene and nitrile flexible adhesives
The 3M Scotch-Weld flexible adhesive range is divided into four categories: water-based adhesives, solvent-based adhesives, aerosols, and hot-melt adhesives.
- Water-based and solvent-based adhesives are mainly neoprene- or nitrile-based.
- Key differences:
- Open time: longer with water-based adhesives
- Eco-friendliness: solvent-free options are better for the environment
- Performance: both types deliver identical performance.
Contact adhesives are included in this range. After a varying open time (depending on the product), adhesion upon assembly is instantaneous.
