Overview

          Characteristics of 3M DP 8005

    Scotch-Weld DP 8005 is a two-component acrylic adhesive developed by 3M, designed to be tough and highly resistant to harsh environmental conditions.

     

    Compatible materials

    • Difficult-to-bond plastics like PE, PP
    • Non-stick powder coatings (epoxy)
    • Elastomers or thermoplastic polyolefins such as Santoprene
    • Metals, alloys, glass, wood

    Note: It is not compatible with nylon, PTFE (Teflon), silicone surfaces, mold release agents, or polyimide.

     

    The adhesive is chemically resistant, except to toluene.

     

    No special surface preparation is generally required, although cleaning is recommended for optimal results.

     

    Similarities with DP 8010 :

    • Similar performance to DP 8010 but with a longer set time.
    • DP 8010 is compatible with Teflon (PTFE).

          Application process

    DP 8005 is applied using an EPX applicator gun with a 10:1 mixing ratio and a mixing nozzle.

    • For 38 ml cartridges, the small EPX applicator is used.
