What are the characteristics of 3M Temflex 1500?
The 3M Temflex 1500 tape is made from a plasticized PVC backing and is produced by 3M. It is primarily used for electrical insulation and protection of wires and cables.
High conformability and elasticity allow it to wrap tightly around cables.
Good sealing properties.
Aging resistance.
Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Withstands temperatures up to 80°C.
Flame-retardant and self-extinguishing.
High dielectric strength: 40 kV/mm.
Strong adhesion and available in a variety of colors.
For applications requiring thicker tape, higher temperature tolerance, or better electrical resistance, other tapes like the 3M Super 33+ are recommended.
When applying, it is suggested to wrap the insulating tape around the cable with half overlap and sufficient tension, with the final layer applied without tension.
