      What are the characteristics of 3M 8979 ?

3M 8979 tape is a single sided cloth tape manufactured by the company 3M with an adhesive material in specific rubber : indeed, even under UV stress, this cloth tape is guaranteed not to leave residue when removed, up to 6 months after application. Several tests were performed and under equivalent exposure stress, after 6 months, a basic cloth tape will suffer from deteriorated backing material and a peeling adhesive material, whereas 3M 8979 tape will leave no residue upon removal.

Its thickness and the special feature of its weave give it excellent tensile strength, even for demanding applications. It remains conformable and can be torn easily at home, while keeping a straight tear.

This single sided cloth tape is also guaranteed to be UV resistant for one year, which makes it highly suitable for outdoor use. Its unique slate blue colour makes it easily identifiable and allows for very quick differentiation from other cloth tapes.
