Description of the 3M 590 sealant
The 3M 590 sealant is a single-component polyurethane sealant from the Powerline range of 3M.
It is classified as a "high modulus" product: it ensures perfect sealing while providing high-performance bonding for applications with high mechanical stresses.
It is recommended for bonding glazing in the automotive sector (windshields, etc.) and in construction (installation of windows, conservatories, skylights, etc.).
Main characteristics:
Perfect sealing against moisture with excellent resistance to salt spray.
Flexibility of the joint providing resistance to shocks and vibrations, protecting the glazing. Good elastic memory with strong internal cohesion.
Very high shear performance.
Provides immediate hold (quick fix) for assembled parts.
UV resistance.
Suitable for bonding glass or PMMA windshields, screen-printed windows (requires a primer), difficult-to-bond plastics like polycarbonate, metals, PVC, and composite materials.
Successfully passes the crash test with dual inflatable safety cushions according to FMVSS 212 standards.
