What are the characteristics of SIKAPOWER 1576?
SIKAPOWER 1576 is a new two-component epoxy adhesive developed by SIKA, known for its high performance on all substrates and being the most resistant in the SIKAPOWER epoxy adhesive range.
It polymerizes at room temperature, with curing being able to be accelerated by heating in an oven or with an infrared lamp. It has a long working time, allowing for the bonding and final assembly of large and wide units.
(For a faster curing time, consider the SIKAPOWER 1511 reference.)
Its main specificity is to provide exceptional structural adhesion properties across a wide range of substrates, including:
Metals (aluminum, anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel), including those coated with powder paint.
Polyester-based and epoxy-based composites.
High surface energy plastics such as ABS.
Rigid polyurethane.
Foam materials.
Glass and ceramics.
This high-quality tough adhesive meets technical requirements and significant mechanical stresses due to its resistance to:
Thermal stress: from -40°C to 120°C.
Chemicals.
Water.
Tensile and peel forces.
Shock and impact.
Aging.
Thus, its durability is excellent, even in challenging environments.
This reference comes in a thixotropic paste form that does not flow, allowing it to fill gaps up to 10 mm and be applied to vertical, inclined, or irregular surfaces.
A primer is generally not necessary before applying this product, but we recommend conducting preliminary tests to ensure it is suitable for the surface you wish to bond. A clean surface free from dirt and grease is necessary to optimize adhesion. Check out all our tips and tricks for effective surface preparation.
How to apply it?
The SIKAPOWER 1576 adhesive is packaged in 50 ml or 200 ml cartridges that can be adapted to either a manual or pneumatic EPX adhesive gun. This system allows for dosing, mixing, and application in a single operation.
A piston and suitable nozzle are placed in the EPX system.
- inserts
- structures composites en carrosserie
- ...
