      What are the characteristics of 3M 9415 ?

3M 9415 tape is a double-sided removable tape from the scotch tape range manufactured by 3M.

This tape has a polyester backing material with differentiated adhesion :

• one side with an acrylic adhesive with high tack, called the permanent side
• one side with an acrylic adhesive with low adhesion, like a post-it note, called the repositionable side.

This scotch tape allows for repositioning on a large variety of surfaces such as paper, aluminium or plastic film. Upon removal, there is no adhesive residue and no deterioration of the surface (in the majority of cases, there is neither bleaching nor stains on the surface). On some smooth papers, the tape can be repositioned up to 450 times, while maintaining the same adherence level.

Adhesion is better on flexible materials, such as paper, as compared to cardboard. However, in order to prevent the post-it side of the adhesive from losing its bonding agent after a certain amount of time, it could be important to stiffen the surface, especially if it is too flexible.
