Overview

Description of Threebond TB1324 medium strength thread lock adhesive

The TB1324 adhesive is a red anaerobic reactive adhesive developed by the ThreeBond company.

Specifically designed for metallic threaded assemblies, this medium strength thread lock adhesive is ideal for securing nut and bolt systems, as well as press fits.

It is excellent for locking and sealing threaded parts (studs, bolts, bearings) while allowing for occasional disassembly using hand tools.

It polymerizes when isolated from contact with the air and in the presence of metal ions (e.g., when confined between closely spaced metal surfaces).

Our recommendation: The use of an activator such as ThreeBond TB3095C should be employed to ensure adequate curing when dealing with inert substrates or when there is excessive gap spacing.

    Features:

    • Eliminates the need for mechanical locking solutions like locknuts.

    • Requires less force during the initial tightening.

    • Resistant to and effectively protects against contaminants such as oil, saltwater, as well as various chemicals, gases, and solvents.

    • High resistance to vibrations.

    • Protects against rust, leaks, and corrosion.

    • Maximum thread size or gap: M20

Industrial applications of TB1324 thread lock

The ThreeBond TB1324 adhesive has numerous applications in the industrial sector. Here are some examples of applications for this type of adhesive:

    • Industrial machinery and equipment: Locking bolts and nuts on equipment such as engines, pumps, and conveyors to prevent loosening due to vibrations.

    • Automotive/vehicles: Fastening parts like studs, bolts, and bearings in engines, transmissions, and other automotive components. Tightening bolts and nuts on bicycles, motorcycles, etc.

    • Aerospace, construction: Fastening threaded components to ensure stability despite wear, heavy vibrations, and extreme conditions.

    • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems: Preventing leaks and ensuring perfect sealing in fittings and assemblies.

    • Agricultural machinery: Locking threaded parts exposed to harsh outdoor conditions, such as soil, mud, and chemicals.

In these contexts, using the ThreeBond TB1324 adhesive helps extend equipment life, reduce maintenance downtime, and enhance safety.

          How to use Threebond TB1324:

    1. After selecting the appropriate ThreeBond thread lock quality, clean the parts thoroughly, removing all dirt and oil. The parts should be clean.
    2. Apply ThreeBond thread lock to mating surfaces.
    3. Assemble immediately.
    4. Adhere to the specified handling and curing times before working with the parts.
    5. Use TB3095C primer to improve curing speed and ensure curing in larger gaps than specified.

    Handling precautions:

ThreeBond thread lock adhesives can be handled safely as long as standard hygiene rules are followed. In case of the product splashing into the eyes, it is recommended to wear eye protection. Refer to the product's Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for more details (available upon request).
