What are the characteristics of LOCTITE 222 adhesive?
The Loctite 222 adhesive is a purple anaerobic adhesive developed by Loctite.
It is used as a thread locker for low-clearance pipes. Its disassembly resistance is low.
The Loctite 222 product enables a tightening by adhesion between two metal parts (like screws) in the absence of oxygen, allowing manual tools to loosen these parts without damaging or twisting them.
This adhesive is particularly recommended for so-called soft metals that can easily be damaged during unscrewing or loosening.
It offers excellent vibration resistance and has a thixotropic character with low viscosity.
This adhesive can be used in food processes.
Loctite 577 for leak-proof fittings is a good alternative if any sealing issues arise in your application.
