      What are the technical characteristics of TESA 4668?

Polyethylene materials have low surface energy, making them difficult to bond. Clients often face challenges with this, and we offer solutions such as TESA 4669, which has an acrylic adhesive designed for long-lasting bonding on PE films.

TESA 4668 is a single-sided polyethylene tape that is part of the low-density polyethylene family, making it more flexible and conformable than high-density polyethylene, but with lower mechanical strength.

TESA developed this transparent tape for various repair and jointing applications on polyethylene materials.

      Applications

TESA 4668 is mainly used for repairing or joining surfaces made of low-density polyethylene, such as greenhouse covers, garbage bags, plastic bags, and low-density PE films.

• Repairing greenhouse covers: Greenhouse covers, agricultural tunnels, or protective films can suffer damage from storms or sharp tools. If the cover is less than 10 years old, TESA 4668 can extend its lifespan by repairing tears or holes.

• Sealing plastic bags

• Joining low-density PE films in the construction industry

• Sealing vapor barrier films

TESA 4668's performance and advantages have been tested and approved by the Swedish Institute for Technical Approval in Construction (SITAC) for use in joining PE films in construction work.

      Application tips

• For repairing greenhouse covers, we recommend applying the tape to both sides of the tear for extra durability.
• For joining PE films on construction sites, apply the tape to one side to ensure a proper seal.
