Overview

Description and applications of the ADEZIF 350

The Adezif 350 tape is a pre-formed butyl putty in roll form used to ensure a seal in the vacuum molding process. Its composition allows it to withstand cooking cycles of up to 200°C.

The highly conformable butyl band is applied around the perimeter of the mold to ensure the seal between the vacuum film and the mold. It is compatible with most films and surfaces (especially EPDM) and can be easily removed with minimal residue.

The immediate adhesion is high, allowing for an air-tight seal throughout the entire cooking cycle and reducing the need for tool cleaning. This facilitates easy demolding and reduces cleaning time between each production cycle, whether in an oven or autoclave.

Its application is simple and can be done manually, without any special equipment. Just apply the band to the surface, remove the liner, apply the vacuum film on the putty band, and press the assembly to ensure adhesion and vacuum quality.

To minimize putty residue on the mold after cooking, it is recommended to remove it when cold.

Examples of composite products manufactured with the vacuum molding process and sealed by the ADEZIF 350 putty:

    • Car mirrors

    • Lightweight gliders

    • Kayak shells

    • Wind turbine blades
