Description of the Sikaflex 221 polyurethane sealant
The Sikaflex 221 sealant is a single-component polyurethane sealant from the Sikaflex range by Sika.
With a Shore A hardness of 40, this product ensures both traditional assembly of components (even of different materials) and a flexible, reliable, and long-lasting sealing joint.
It is highly versatile and effective for all interior finishing work.
Its good adhesion allows it to be used on various substrates such as wood, metals, plastics, paints, varnishes, polyester, and ceramics.
The Sikaflex 221 sealant is thixotropic (in the form of a non-flowing gel) and solidifies in response to moisture in the air. It exhibits excellent resistance to aging.
Thanks to its flexibility and elasticity, the Sikaflex 221 sealant withstands shocks and vibrations while accommodating deformations caused by material expansion.
It can be painted and sanded once polymerization is complete. However, any paint must be validated through testing in real-world usage conditions.
It is available in five colors.
Examples of applications:
Creation of sealing joints in transportation equipment such as caravans, camper vans, and trucks.
Fixing decorative elements, equipment, and accessories.
Vibration-damping supports.
Sealing of ventilation networks.
