The Sikaflex 552 AT sealant is a hybrid polyurethane sealant from the Sikaflex range. Its formulation is free from isocyanates, solvents, VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), silicone, and PVC.

It is made from hybrid prepolymers developed by Sika and polymerizes under the influence of moisture into a resilient and high-performance elastomer.

The unique feature of this sealant is its ability to create ultra-strong structural assemblies that are subjected to dynamic stresses.

It adheres to various substrates and materials such as aluminum, steel, glass, plastics, and ceramics, and is non-corrosive.

Advantages of Sikaflex 552 AT sealant:

• In most cases, the use of a primer can be avoided. However, it is advisable to conduct preliminary adhesion tests on the substrate. This provides a significant gain in time and productivity.

• It exhibits excellent resistance to aging and UV, making it suitable for outdoor use. This helps prevent yellowing, cracking, and powdering that degrade and weaken the formed joint.

• Its exceptionally high thixotropy allows for the application of this sealant in thick joints.

• The Sikaflex 552 AT sealant can be painted, but the paint must be applied before the skin formation time has elapsed. Two-component epoxy paints are generally compatible with this sealant.

• It is resistant to water (including freshwater, seawater, and detergents in aqueous environments). However, it is less resistant to organic acids, alcohol, concentrated acidic and basic solutions, and solvents.
